Asian Style Crispy Pork Roast With Asian Coleslaw

Prep time: 30 min Cooking time: 2 - 2 1/2 hrs Serves: 6 - 8 This is a recipe I have used many times that I adapted from one that I found. I found their spice mix was a bit weak so I bumped the quantities a little so that the flavor was more accessible, and I have had no complaints yet. I love lots of garlic in seasoning, so I usually double this amount up. I hope you enjoy recreating this delicious dish. For a carb or starch, I would recommend either noodles or Rice, but some juicy dumplings could work too. I personally would pair this with a dark beer like a dark lager or stout, Bock or even something bold like a triple-styled beer. Normal lager will work too but the flavor profile might be a bit basic for the bold flavors of the 5 spice. A smokey whiskey or even dark rum will work well with this too. For wines, I would go for something like a pinotage or merlot, Shiraz if you are feeling really spicy. This would also go really nicely with a spicey Gin and tonic such as Bom

Sounds About Right

As a kid, I was raised on music that ranged from Roger Whittaker and Dave Brubeck all the way through to Budgie, Pearl Jam, Sum41, Cream, and even Company Segundo. The one thing that remained constant between all of them was the Kenwood Amplifier linked up to the maple Pioneer speakers that my father used to blast the music through, much to my mother’s dismay. I think I, therefore, inherited my “audiophilic” tendencies from these moments. In the vast world of gaming and audio gear, for me, it is not necessarily the name that matters but the quality. But does this apply to headsets? well for the most part I don’t believe so, I mean there is a reason why so many people are willing to pay for Sennheiser and  Corsair  or even the more bespoke brands like B&O and HIFIMAN. Let’s talk about Clams Nowadays it’s easy to get lost in the confusion of stereo, 5.1, and 7.1 virtual surround sound headsets and what you may need/want for gaming. But the most important question; “Is it worth your w

Blue Dorito crusted Jalapeno Poppers

Image
Ingredients: The desired quantity of Jalapeños A small bowl of water 1 cup of milk 1 – 2 cups of flour 1 bag of blue Doritos (or any other desired chips) 2-3 slices of bread (4 if making a lot of poppers) or 1 to 2 cups breadcrumbs 1 cup grated cheddar or mozzarella Grated parmesan (optional) 1 tub of either cream cheese or thickish chip dip 1 tablespoon of bacon bits (optional) 1 tablespoon of Chives or spring onion finely cut Salt and pepper to taste Oil for shallow or deep frying Deep pan/pot for deep frying Method:   Halve and deseed the jalapeños. (The seeds can be kept and added into cheese mix later to add extra spice). I prefer cutting the tops off a little way down from the stem and then using the back/handle of a teaspoon to scrape the seeds out, but this does make them more difficult to fill with the cheese mix, unless you have a thickish syringe or a nozzle for a piping bag or tube that will fit in the chili. Make sure yo

First Short story

This is the first short story I have written. It may seem a little cliche in its content but I believe it is good. Please have a read and feel free to comment below! I hope you enjoy it. https://1drv.ms/b/s!Aidr1QSfX3WwnT74XZvrNfAoR7Bx Kind Regards Oskar Roux

Rainy Daze

If a rainy day was every day Then every day would be mine. If every day, was a rainy day By me, that would be just fine. But if a rainy day was every day. Would it still be special to me? Or if every day was a rainy day Would that dampen the joy for me? ~ Oskar Roux @Ozman_13 on twitter @Ozymandias13 on instagram

Floating

As we float completely inept of our bodies and consciousness we find a different, altered state of being, more pure, true, and free. . . . Free of judgement, free of harm.   Our souls at ease because of inebriation. Fear of hurt fear of pain, .yet, that all seems meaningless and quite mortal. For now, we feel free, immortal and unchained from despair, from life, from disappointment and also disappointing, the ones we love, the ones we hate and even the ones we’re still meant to love and those who love us. For this universe is vast. Greater than we could ever imagine. For the love we have, have lost and are still to gain is minuscule in comparison to the history and future of our civilisation and what we stand for. According to Darwin, we aren’t meant to live yet according to Aristotle and Kant too we are a species bread to survive. To help one another for the greater good and also to help one another for ourselves…. With pardon of course. For what’s right to some is foul

I, Captive

To captivate someone the way  You do Is an art form many never learn to master. With eyes deeper than the Marianas trench  Your being Just draws me like a moth to a flame. To make someone feel the way  You do me Makes me wonder how many ages you've experienced. A soul so ablaze no person would know you and not be warm. The strength of nations upon nations To carry the weight of the world And grow. The confidence and grace that You move With, can't even be challenged by Aphrodite herself. With cheeks if crimson and eyes of ice Your joy Makes the rest of life seem baron. Leaving me  wanting Craving Thirsty Starved And lucky To know a woman of your sheer  Prowess. ~ Oskar Roux @Ozman_13 on twitter @Ozymandias13 on instagram

Plans from society

The idea of a perfect plan for life is one that’s floored in every material in every way. It begins much like a seed. In good soil with good intentions and seemingly the right influence. Sun for photosynthesis, nutrients to supply the food for growth and water. Enough water to rehydrate invigorate but also it can drown. The water you see isn’t merely water it’s the plausibility and possibility we strive for and see in our faces every day. “Be who you want to be”, “The sky is the limit” “the only thing holding you back is your imagination”. But what if that isn’t it. What if being who we want to be gets put down, changed and made to be realistic. Like a child following the instructions on their Lego instructions: they put M8 on T3 and piece that together with pieces 5, 6, 7 & 8 etc. until their puzzle is complete. Complete to resemble the same thing that the other kids build, or the same one that their parents before them built. Built to last, built to fit, built
