The PDP wired Xbox one controller

Image
Have you ever played a certain type of game and thought; “Man, this would be so much better with a controller?” Good, then keep reading. As someone that has always grown up playing on a PlayStation since their original models, all the way down to the PS4, adjusting to a new remote is always challenging. I was never really against the idea of an Xbox but just preferred PlayStation because of tradition I guess. This love and tradition started all thanks to my older brother who bought me a PS1 when they came out. So in a sense, you could say he started my love for gaming. (Tanks Max)   At some point, I changed over to PC but still kept the PlayStation around for when friends were over. Now that I game, virtually, solely on a PC I found it strange using a controller but some games are undeniably more comfortable on a controller. So, I decided to invest in a PDP Xbox one wired controller. Considering it only sets you back roughly R600 from the usual online tech retailers, I was wi

The Outer Worlds Pt1

As far as single-player games go, I had fallen out of love with the idea of them. Sure, not everyone’s tastes are the same and most people love the idea of playing through a game by one’s self, but that’s not always my idea of fun. I do prefer the social gaming aspect of playing with friends and just causing mischief, but this game may have reignited that love for the single-player RPG for me.  I used to play through a single-player like the world didn’t exist, then I started playing some online multiplayer games with friends and hadn’t really looked back. Even though there were massive title releases they just still didn’t really appeal to me, until this one. Outer worlds seems to be an amazing RPG that combines the best of my top three games. Bioshock, Borderlands, and Fallout. Bioshock for its art, design, lighting, character movement and creepy story. Borderlands for its humour and brilliant art style that seems to replicate the key elements of a comic, another great

DC and the Method in Joker's madness

Please note there are spoilers in the paragraph titled “the Joker”. Throughout their comics, DC has always portrayed the grittier, darker and realistic side of being a superhero, masked vigilante or even the villain. In their movie adaptations though, they have always seemed to be lacking the darker punch that they so desperately craved, in order to be any competition. Sure some people will say that DC is the more “old-school” publishing house, but that also means that they draw on a time that was depressing in nature.  The origin of comic books as a genre that we know, stems from war and the post-war era. Unlike Marvel, DC seemed to embrace the dark nature of the time from which they arose and the characters of DC deal with their new positions bestowed upon them in a more real and almost agonising way. Now by real and agonising, I mean that their powers and rite of passage come from events of misfortune in their life that demand them to be the heroes and villains they becom

Thronos : The ultimate gaming chamber

Thronos : The ultimate gaming chamber. Thanks to NAG, Acer predator and Julia “Bish” Robson, I was fortunate enough to test out and play in the Acer Predator Thronos gaming rig. As far as gaming experiences go, the Thronos is, at first, intimidating. With its scorpion-like style and posture. The Thronos seems like a hybrid gaming/sleep pod between a TRON   sleep pod but you feel like one of the mechs from “Love, Death, and Robots” in the ”suits” episode. Love, death, and robots mechs The visual impact that the Thronos has on a medium-sized room is rather large, but it’s a positive impact because it instills a sense of childlike excitement. Once climbing into the machine the experience of being in the machine itself is overwhelming at first but that’s because one could never imagine their dream coming true. The powerhouse behind the Thronos is an Acer built PC. The setup is an 8 th gen i7, two 1080ti with 32gigs of RAM, so there’s enough of a driving force behind thi
